HPP BIZ: Part the third
#51
The finance committee is and was voted in by the membership the treasurer mermaid refers to as being voted in was voted in by less than a majority board vote this is not a legal director therefore is not HPPOA’s treasurer only a friend and puppet to the mermaid.

The definition of "insanity" is: "doing the same thing and expecting different results".

If the Board really wants to evade transparency, they should declare themselves "Hawaiian" and claim that they're participating in "civil disobedience".

Agreed!!
If mermaid insists On transparency she should update the members on the results of the audit.

If anyone has any evidence of wrongdoing Take it to the cops, take it to the media

Take it to the cops, take it to the media

Cops won't do anything. Media reports will generate temporary outrage, at best, quickly forgotten because are pork chops on sale and what's on TV tonight?

Tip: send your road dues directly to the law firm of your choice, and save everyone the trouble of arguing about it.

Aloha Seeb,
This is Corp. malfeasance. Police do not handle this......but media is a good suggestion. Unfortunately, The ones that know the most are involved in legal battles at this time.......so not a good idea for them to speak out at this time.

We HPPOA members are supposed to be insured of BOARD over-site. Obviously this is not currently occurring.

My understanding is that the past president (current?) sued for Receivership. This was denied by the court.
Why we are not having Board meetings or General membership meetings is not at all clear to me.
One party in the current lawsuit ( not the pres.) is thru the courts, requesting oversite by an outside court appointed party, ( not formal receivership)
I for one am very disappointed in the court's prolonged decision in this. It leaves us all without the protection of our bylaws.

This is only assumed as corporate malfeasance by a few that need to furnish the proof to defend the allegation . Without the proof this is once again leading HPPOA into yet another lawsuit our dues will pay for on hearsay and rumors. It’s not a wonder HPP can’t move forward making improvements with the power struggle.

hearsay and rumors

As befits forum whinging -- Punaweb isn't a court of law by any means.

For the umpteenth time: HPP residents must like it this way -- or they would find a way to fix it.

Most of us HPP residents, if we care about any of this at all, the only thing that matters is road maintenance, which also happens to be the only purpose of the HPPOA. They graded my road this week, and it needed it badly. It was not, however, as bad or as overdue as it has been at times under previous, less contentious regimes. The grader has appeared on a more regular and timely basis for the past two years than it has since about 2010. (Yes, my neighbors and I track these things.) I will be paying my road fees because I am getting something for my money.

Having said all that, I still think some sort of court imposed outside unelected oversight structure should be set up, if for no other reason than to stop the bickering and lawsuits. HPP has shown itself utterly incapable of sane self government under the current structure.

By the flurry of Stillwater's posts, it looks like Mermaid struck a nerve. This lawsuit has power struggle by the status quo written all over it at HPP's expense. Stillwater wants malfeasance evidence. It's right under your nose. Several cancelled Board of Directors meetings, no financial statements, cancelled Members meetings, it's obvious the resignations were coordinated with the lawsuit. None of them has explained how it was supposed to benefit HPP. The current status quo has dug themselves into a deep legal hole. The past board was the worst board of directors I've ever witnessed. It was painful to watch and blatantly clear the officers were dysfunctional, unprofessional, and couldn't get their act together. What I saw were several directors berating who I believe are the directors getting sued. I went to several board of director meetings and it was the same. No wonder they didn't accomplish anything. I never saw the guy who's suing HPP at any of the board of directors meetings. He was a ghost president! So why was he on the board of directors if he couldn't attend board meetings? No disrespect, but contrary to what Chunkster says, the board of director's obligation aren't only to maintain the roads but to provide financial statements. Did any of you get any financials in the mail from the previous treasurer or board like we used to? The striping on the main roads, what striping? I think they did that about a year ago. What a waste of money. That's malfeasance. Stillwater says everything's alright. The audit only covers the last fiscal year, not during the ongoing coup.
