Catchment filtering systems: Serial Numbers

Okay. I cannot STAND the idea that I have a catchment system with one sediment filter. Gonna upgrade, God willing, and need to go tell my handyman which one to pick up. Forgive me for repeating myself on this. I need a system that has UV on it, and preferably a really long lasting filter that doesn't need to be changed every month. Want at least TWO filters, three is probably best.

Does Home Depot carry?? Does anyone have their manual out, with serial numbers so I can call Hawaii Catchment or someone with a number and say "hold for pickup".

Now that I have moaned a little about the quality of my filtering system, I have to count my blessings: the catchment tank is UNDERGROUND. Whoo-hooo!!! (I think).

Call several of the catchment companies. Ask them for pricing on 2 of the 4.5" x 20" filter housings and their recommendations for a sediment (typically 20 micron) and a carbon filter (typically 5 micron). Your UV should be scaled for your water usage, as well as your pump capability. With this properly set up, you should be able to drink your treated water. Have it tested before doing so. The 20" filters can last 8-12 months before changing, which is a good savings over the jumbo 4.5' x 10" filters, and way better than the smaller diameter filters. I don't think you need any serial numbers for the filter housings and filters; going by the dimensions should be adequate. Too bad you can't make it to the ARCSA community dinner Thursday night in Kea'au.

Got it, Les! That's the system I need -- change infrequently, and UV filter.
