Actually the COVID19 vaccine will have the 5G-activated nanomachines -- the technology wasn't quite ready, and the 5G rollout has been delayed because Huawei wasn't a good little imperialist lap-dog. All covered in my new book.

An interesting article in the WaPo..

A mysterious blood-clotting complication is killing coronavirus patients
Once thought a relatively straightforward respiratory virus, covid-19 is proving to be much more frightening

This is lengthy, so I am only pasting a portion so as to inform..

One doctor replied that one of his patients had a strange blood problem. Despite being put on anticoagulants, the patient was still developing clots. A second said she’d seen something similar. And a third. Soon, every person on the text chat had reported the same thing.

“That’s when we knew we had a huge problem,” said Coopersmith, a critical-care surgeon. As he checked with his counterparts at other medical centers, he became increasingly alarmed: “It was in as many as 20, 30 or 40 percent of their patients.”

One month ago when the country went into lockdown to prepare for the first wave of coronavirus cases, many doctors felt confident they knew what they were dealing with. Based on early reports, covid-19 appeared to be a standard variety respiratory virus, albeit a contagious and lethal one with no vaccine and no treatment. They’ve since seen how covid-19 attacks not only the lungs, but also the kidneys, heart, intestines, liver and brain.

Increasingly, doctors also are reporting bizarre, unsettling cases that don’t seem to follow any of the textbooks they’ve trained on. They describe patients with startlingly low oxygen levels — so low that they would normally be unconscious or near death — talking and swiping on their phones. Asymptomatic pregnant women suddenly in cardiac arrest. Patients who by all conventional measures seem to have mild disease deteriorating within minutes and dying at home.

With no clear patterns in terms of age or chronic conditions, some scientists hypothesize that at least some of these abnormalities may be explained by severe changes in patients’ blood.

The concern is so acute some doctor groups have raised the controversial possibility of giving preventive blood thinners to everyone with covid-19 — even those well enough to endure their illness at home.

Blood clots, in which the red liquid turns gel-like, appear to be the opposite of what occurs in Ebola, Dengue, Lassa and other hemorrhagic fevers that lead to uncontrolled bleeding. But they actually are part of the same phenomenon — and can have similarly devastating consequences.

Autopsies have shown some people’s lungs fill with hundreds of microclots. Errant blood clots of a larger size can break off and travel to the brain or heart, causing a stroke or heart attack. On Saturday, Broadway actor Nick Cordero, 41, had his right leg amputated after being infected with the novel coronavirus and suffering from clots that blocked blood from getting to his toes.

Lewis Kaplan, a University of Pennsylvania physician and head of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, said every year doctors treat people with clotting complications, from those with cancer to victims of severe trauma, “and they don’t clot like this.”

“The problem we are having is that while we understand that there is a clot, we don’t yet understand why there is a clot,” Kaplan said. “We don’t know. And therefore, we are scared.”

It almost sounds like Covid19 is triggering a response similar to APS (Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome)

Maybe our illustrious leader will now tell us we all should be on Warfarin..

The hoarding of toilet paper was just ridiculous. The hoarding of masks was dangerous. Who cares about first responders as long as I've got mine?

Masks aren't required by the way. Face coverings are.

Well the current batch of forsythia isn't living up to expectations. Doubt that could ever be admitted to however (never happened, fake news). Whether anyone he knows has a financial stake in a cheap medicine that is easy to maximize profit on is probably the best predictor for future recommendations.

The blot-clotting adds to the blood-related effects of covid like hypoxia. Guessing some doctors will try out whole blood infusions or exchanges (not just plasma for antibodies) to see if this restores oxygen carrying capacity and clotting issues.

There's also some indications of "covid toe" rashes and lesions showing up for some individuals. All of this points to just how little we know about this disease, it's effects, reliable treatments, and long term consequences (permanent lung damage has been reported for some patients instance)

Aside from a few a******s hoarding masks for resale, show me proof that individual households in America were hoarding masks for their own use. Blame the poor planning and profit motives of hospitals that would rather send nurses in without masks than admit they screwed up. Blame governments at every level that did not maintain emergency stockpiles. But to blame Joe Sixpack because he had the foresight to buy a 5-pack at Home Depot, and say he is somehow responsible for his local hospitals being short tens of thousands of masks that they didn't order months or years ago is ludicrous. Just as bad as the CDC lying to people saying masks would not help.

There is proof right here on Punaweb of people buying masks despite being asked not to, boasting about it and then subsequently lying about it when the shame set in (so there is at least hope!).

Consider this article:
https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/29/health/fa...index.html

The United States' top doctor has one simple request: Stop buying face masks.

US Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams' message, posted to Twitter on Saturday, was a response to face mask shortages as people stocked up due to coronavirus concerns.
"Seriously people," he began, and though it's a tweet, you can almost hear the exasperation in his plea. "STOP BUYING MASKS!"

===
I agree, it would've been better that the hospitals had stockpiles and that the White House hadn't disbanded the department that was helping prepare for pandemics.
But once it was known there was a dangerous shortage then people should not have been buying masks that were in short supply at hospitals. One box here, one box there, soon it adds up to millions of masks lying unused in people's closets and shortages where they are needed most.

Fortunately, the mask shortage seems to be over now. It was a responsible thing to buy masks before the height of the pandemic and now after, but not during, especially when it got so bad that the SG had to tweet in all caps to get the message through. Or was that Fake News?

Face it randomq, PaulW's bitch has always been with us, the folks here on PW. Anything he can do to shame us he'll do. It's his mission in life.

PaulW is too small minded to realize anyone that bought a box of masks in a retail outlet could in no way be taking them from the medical professionals. And yet he spent a month, longer than a month, brow beating everyone here over the stupid issue. It was, and if you look back over this thread it sill is, sickening to see how petty this issue was pursued. How many times it was used in an attempt to shame and humiliate. And still, it only severed to prove how shameful and uncaring Paul is.
