"talk a topin"? Scratching head here. Is that something akin to coolies?

I'm guessing its a typo -- should be "topic".

“Talk a topin” - A phrase from an obscure Southern Puna dialect of the island of Hawaii. It refers to a locally developed custom of vigorously discussing a topic, often controversial in nature, while not using derogatory names or terms but while being respectful to the ideas and beliefs of others, even when in disagreement.

Gee I hope those sensitive to this thread, can avert their sensitive eyes, and ears, and don't bash it with mango pitters. Lets hope they don't tune in here and bash you with their abrupt aloha in their efforts to quash your thread Jerry. You are very brave, and I think very diplomatic, unlike others, but of course this is only my humble and uninformed opinion perhaps???

Thanks I like hearing peoples thought about all the local issues! CW or not.

I share your concerns, Mella. So far this thread seems to bash-free and informative. What a wonderful concept! Thanks for the aloha!

since politics is the subject, and everybody is behaving. I guess I'll put in my two cents. This is who has my vote Tuesday.
