Kilauea madhouse

Thought we’d go look at the new eruption. I guess everyone else on the Big Island thought the same thing. The lookout lot was full, so we were directed to park at a newly created lot at the KMC ball field and walk over. It’s a bit of a walk, but no rain so pleasant. I think there were about 75 to a hundred people there when we arrived at 5:30 pm. When we left at 6:30, I think there were twice that. Then I heard a couple of police talking about two thousand people.
They were NOT ready for that kind of crowd.

Still worth it to see the new eruption!

I am getting nervous about the new eruption...it’s just filling up way too fast.

The fissures around leilani and black sands are still fuming and the pavement is still hot in spots.

I know some of the local Hawaiians don’t think Pele will come back down the same path again but it doesn’t seem like she’s done yet.

Hmmmm.....I am not sleeping soundly.
