What, no son ready to inherit the crown? Maybe the USDA can round us up another snake instead.

Fox News wrote a lengthy, mostly positive puff piece on Kai Kahele.  Some of his stands would seem in line with other members of Congress who get savaged by Fox "News" but his positions are stated simply and objectively:
Kahele says the progressive vision for health care, a green economy and a $15 minimum wage can improve lives. It just may take some convincing.

Perhaps for now he receives the Hawaii-2nd-Congressional-Seat-Tulsi-Gabbard professional courtesy until he lands on the wrong side future legislation?  Whatever the reason might be, in the Fox World of black & white, for or against, it's a curious start for our new representative.

Kai Kahele in the Guardian:

“We have an awakened generation of Native Hawaiians that know their past, they understand and speak their language and they’re not turning back… People are split about how to right the wrongs, whether it’s through sovereignty or federal recognition, and part of my role is trying to figure out what the future path looks like. Having a voice in Congress and representation at the table is important.”

In Hawaii, historical land grabs, cultural violations and economic abuses perpetrated by the US government in cahoots with western businessmen are at the root of some of the most difficult and polarizing issues today, according to Kahele. This includes the contested decision to construct a huge telescope on Mauna Kea, the most sacred mountain to Native Hawaiians, as well as water rights amid growing shortages linked to overdevelopment.

Statement from Kai Kahele announcing he’s onboard with impeachment:

I have just informed Congressman Ciciline that I will sign the Articles of Impeachment as an original co-sponsor. It is time to remove the President from office.

Waste more time for what purpose? There are 10 days left.

There are 10 days left.

If a man needs two hands to hold a glass of water and can barely walk down a ramp, incapacitates matched repeatedly with concurrent demonstrations of mental impairment - - it might take a little longer than usual to open the nuclear football and push a button.  But less than 11 days.  I don't often agree with Kahele, but in this case and for the sake of all humans, flora & fauna in Hawaii, his position is prudent.

I thought that, once again, Bernie Sanders nailed it. Why impeach The Mad King with 10 days left? "Precedent", he said. Paraphrasing now, he said that we need to establish that this kind of behavior is unacceptable. I'm with Kai on this one.
Certainty will be the death of us.
