Thank you for the offer Obie. I'm tempted to accept just to hang out with you a bit. Consider that an offer.
My stove problem is that the digital control panel went down. My previous stove died a similar death but in that case a gecko committed suicide on the motherboard. No gecko in this case.
I am suspecting the problem is either fixable such as find a broken power wire possibly chewed on by a mouse.....
or it is not fixable... bad motherboard.
I will offer this advise to any and all buying new appliances: Get the longest extended warranty you can.
Mahalo to all and Happy Holiday.

Rob, Is your stove a Samsung with the membrane touch pad? Are getting an “SE” error?

Someone once recommended Puna Appliance--982-6444--(Colin) but have never used him. Any follow-up on Puna Appliance?

Had the same problem. It’s most likely a shorted touch panel. It will need to be replaced. You can buy them online from 90 to 150 bucks. It’s a 30 minute process to change one out.
I’m surprised this happened on what is a fairly new stove.
I did it myself with help from youtube.
If the new keypad doesn’t fix it, you will have a controller (main computer) fail.
Even if you don’t do it yourself, maybe this will give you an idea of what to expect.

I helped a friend with their pad.
I removed the pad from back of stove. Opened it, the inside had several dozen small cockroaches in it, probably because of the warmth. I used a vacuum, then pressurized air to clean it out. The roaches had either interrupted the electrical connections or caused other interference, but it works now. I sprayed some roach spray around the pad after it was reinstalled, carefully, so as to not get inside the pad or on food preparation surfaces.

Thanks HOTPE, Good suggestion. Preemptively, when I bought the stove, I had sealed all access points to the electronics with fiberglas window screening. I have opened the section and it is clean as new. No bugs.
But your suggestion makes sense.
