Free Bus Service For Hawaii Island
#1
There is something free for Puna residents and Hawaii County.

suspends fares for all fixed bus routes and paratransit services offered by Hele-On until Dec. 31, 2023. The Council adopted the measure 7-0, with members Tim Richards and Aaron Chung excused.

Woohoo. Free air conditioned around the island tours, daily, for the homeless!

Or maybe some on Punaweb who expressed concern about inflation and high gas prices now have an alternative method of transportation from which to choose?

As long as you don't need to be somewhere on a schedule!

If only they would charge more and actually maintain their fleet.

For many, the "free" bus ride is only a few miles' hike away.

@LD,

Hopefully they get off 1/2 way and decided to stay. : )

Should have been and should always be free.

Reducing road congestion is a major benefit.

Reducing pollution is another.

Allowing those who cannot afford a vehicle the freedom to move about is priceless.

Should have been and should always be free.

Tell that to the DOE. Individual cars ferrying kids to school is a major source of congestion.
