Just curious. Last time I was there I patronized Lucy's Okazuya, a tiny place in upper Hilo on Kaumana Dr. I went there a number of times on my outings. It was just a morning place but I liked getting a bento for my adventures. I know they've been closed for a number of years now but I was wondering if they opened elsewhere under another name. Or perhaps there is a like kind substitute? I've been to the two Hiro's I know of and I guess they are OK although at least at the time of my visits I found the Keaau branch to have blatantly anti Haole employees although I always found the people at the Puainako store friendly. But I liked Lucy's much better.
And yeah I'm long overdue for a visit.

Never been there, but looks like a local build your bento place? Hilo Lunch Shop (local/Hawaiian) and Kawamoto Store (local/Japanese) look similar, are popular, and both sell out early. There's also Kum Yo's Okazuya (local/Korean) which is good quality and nowhere near as crowded.

I don't think you have any idea who you are responding to.

Is it your intention to post the same unintelligible thing over and over again?
What is a vaulted scientist?

Meanwhile, i simply responded to Oink, then out of nowhere, the troll under the dome swoops in straight up making stuff up as he likes to say. On two threads, so yeah, for economy, same reply.
Your jokes are funny as well.

Thanks for the responses, I think.
I still miss Lucy's. My ex was a local Maui Japanese girl (Sansei) and I got attached to that stuff. She was hard headed but boy could that girl cook.
