HPP mailboxes on Paradise (not sure if all) are designated:

HC 2 Box ####
(HC stands for highway contract)

Wow. May I ask how you got it?

We put our name in for one at the Keaau post office a couple of years ago. We figured we would never get one, thinking that when a property owner sold, the box would go with it.

My mail box is located on Maku'u Dr. and 3rd.  The highway contract number is different from HOTPE's.

HC 3, Box #####
Keaau, HI 96749

That seems to make sense. Kaloli is probably HC1

Box came with house; I was too impatient to wait for a box 10 years ago…..The owner was not in communication to tell us address, but my husband says there are “pods” of boxes which repeat numbers, I haven’t ever really looked carefully. But just to clarify: everyone here says HC2#X only… thanks again!

It's ridiculous! 16 years if having to pay for a P.O. Box in Pahoa. With that purchase I must stand in line anytime a package arrives or if I need to ship something or get stamps.
Also issues with online purchases because my home address isn't in UPS and FedEx system.
Since USPS doesn't want to deliver mail in HPP, I am am inconvenienced and must pay for the privilege of my mail. While others get it all for free, with delivery to their door. We all should file a class action suit.

I agree with you. Why can't they add more boxes to the current locations?

Dave, as far a FedEx, call the Hilo office at 808 969 4980. Give them your P.O. Box address and your physical address. They will then deliver packages to your home.

The way I found this out was, I had ordered something using my P.O. box, thinking it would be sent via USPS. It was sent via FedEx instead and they called me! I'm not sure how they got my number. Anyway, they explained this and said anytime they received a package in the future addressed to my P.O. box, they would deliver it to my home. I don't order a lot of stuff to be delivered but at least once they have done so after I talked to them.

FedEx requires shippers to include a phone number with shipping info.  If you look closely at the waybill it’s usually there in small print.  FedEx Hilo has kept a name-physical address-PO/HC file for many years.  Not sure if UPS does now, but in the past they didn’t.
