Just another example of sensationalized journalism. If you read the article...that 2 days of paid leave is only for "salaried" employees (Supervisors, professional and technical). 90% of Hawaii's state government employees are "hourly" workers. And they get nothing.
Gov. Josh Green gives state workers bonus paid time off

Another stunt from the guy who seems hell-bent on driving the remaining homeowners insurance companies out of Hawaii.

After the stunt the private insurers have tried pulling over grabbing money they are not entitled to from the Lahaina recovery fund I think the entire industry needs to be shown the door. Obviously we, society, needs an alternative to satisfy the lenders but the private insurance industry as it is now.. in all matters, home, business, health.. needs to go.. they are thieves. They don't work for society, they don't make anything better, they steal from us. I personally think society as a whole should be self insured. Instead of paying into a profit oriented fund we need a nonprofit party that has no vested interests in our losses that manages our exposure. But how to get there? I haven't a clue. Hopefully Josh does.

They tried that in The Soviet Union, East Germany, Bulgaria, Hungary, Maoist China, Venezuela, etc.. - it didn't go too well but hey, Lenin was no Josh Green.
I wish you all the best.

At the very least HPIA needs to go and the market place, the inability to get insurance and the trickle down effect on the availability of mortgages, needs to be allowed to have its effects. - MyManao
PS: make up your mind
I wish you all the best.

What is the amount of vacation/personal days already allotted to these overpaid folks in addition to the 14 holidays they get?
