Roads Are Easements Not Planned Communities Or HOAs
"The real problem is that old boards do not educate new boards. So, old court docs, court orders, resolutions, policies, etc., don't get handed down. Resulting in not so much board members being in "a secret black room" and "always in the dark," but more like a group of the blind leading the blind.

I find that quite frankly to be the most insidious excuse I’ve ever heard!

So, in other words, there is no “peaceful transfer of power” between Boards?

But then, how many Boards have been elected because they more or less fought, discredited, insulted, personally attacked, name called, sued and in almost every way imaginable “shit” on the prior Board members?

Further, records, meeting minutes, court records and orders, and each and every document belong to the HPPOA Corporate Entity and not any singular or group of prior (and/or) current directors. If documents were taken, police reports should have been filed.

Having said that, I’ve served on various profit and nonprofit Boards of various entities for various reasons and generally, the first item on my agenda after being elected and/or appointed to any Board was to “get up to speed” with the entire operation and in most cases, getting up to speed by expecting any predecessor I was replacing was not the way to go about that agenda item.

At any event, I have a HPP By-Laws question:

What if no eligible voting members of HPP either come forward or are nominated and subsequently refuse to run and thus no one is elected to a Board of Directors?

Who runs the show if and when that eventually happens?

Did not say it was not peaceful. Just not informative.

Guess HPPOA needs to start charging those membership dues again.

In the meantime shouldn’t you be fighting to stop the publication of The Conch, paid for with road fees, just like you’re fighting to stop mailboxes that are paid for with road maintenance money? For consistency in your stance on how road money is used?

Nope. HPPOA doesn't mail the Conch anymore. Though they are supposed to.

Where does it say that? The bylaws state to “publish” the Conch 3 times a year.

Court docs. It was one of the conditions HPPOA told the court they would comply with.
