Maholo Lenny. We appreciate the pat on the back.
Well Saturday we loaded trusses on the roof.
We hired a crane to hoist them up in place.
Three of us with nail guns. One at the ridge
the other two at each side. One person runnning nails, cutting block, what ever. One person guiding trusses with a rope and one guy
hooking up the straps to hoist th trusses. More people than needed but it worked well rain and all. We finished the day with sirloin and corn BBQ,twice baked tatters, and coconut cake. Oh beer also. I wanted to take pics of the crane hoisting truses but I was one of the nail gun guys. No time for pics. We took half of Sunday off. The other half we painted facia. Today we worked on filling in the hips and perlings. Check out our new pics.

You guys are doing a fantastic job! I loved the idea of assembling the girder and jack trusses before going on the roof! That has to have made the job a lot faster and safer.

Thanks Royall. That was the idea of helper/framer. Saved alot of work. We just hoisted them in place and nailed them in.
Only way to go if your using a crane.

Thanks Dave,
Well after waiting for 5 days of wind to stop
we got started on our roof. This is a little tough. The panel are 24' long. There is just the two of us and it is a work out. We have company coming for 10 days so we won't be able to finish this week. Maybe we can sneek a few work days in. Check out or roof metal Pic.

)) - I never cease to be amazed at the progress made on your "humble" home to be! It's just beautiful. Tony and I sat through the whole slideshow...quite an undertaking and you are really making it happen! Kudos!
My likikoi slowed down for a while since GALS or bugs or something were munching the leaves...I surrounded it with copper and plenty of eggshells and it is looking very happy Richard! I will send you a pic here sometime in the future when it's really filling out.

Good to hear from you Carolann, and thanks for the compliment. We have had company for ten days. So it is time for us to get that roof
finished. Hope we get good weather this week.
Our lilikoi are slowed down also.
Aloha

We finally finished the roof. First wind then rain slowed us down. But a few good days did the trick. Now we can coast. Check out our pics

I can't imagine working that high off the ground! I know it is the same effect if you fall off of a shorter roof onto lava but it just makes my toes curl up! Looks great though. Did you make head or tails of the post on how we folded the cap ends?
