Septic Tank in HPP
#1
I was wondering if there is a determined line/street that the county has determined where homeonwers must put in a septic tank because water table is very shallow? Does anybody know this info?

Yes, I believe that in HPP it is fifth Ave. but I'm not 100% sure. No new cesspools are allowed beyond that street. Not only is it closer to ground water, but it is closer to the ocean.

Cesspools should be banned totally. The septic tank and drainfield arrangement is environmentally bad enough.

We have a lot on 5th and was informed that cesspools are ok on the mountain side but not on the ocean side of the road. This was from our real estate agent.

When you are putting in a septic tank, see if you can have your first groundclearing bulldozer dig the hole for it as part of the driveway & housepad clearing. Saves you a lot of money if you don't have to have the septic guy bring out another dozer to dig the hole.
