Is It True?Property prices to drop in a year or 2

HB,

I like Turner at USC, but a bad choice for the Bolts. I was hoping for June Jones or some other college coachs. I would like a coach like with Frank Kush style but my picks would be Pete Carrol, Bobby Petrino, or Dan Hawkins.

I'll have to have a talk with Spanos, maybe we will have to send Turner back to Oakland.

I am cashing in my stocks in my 401K now, (since I just retired) before the market gets realistic and tanks. As soon as I heal up from a surgery, I will be on the island with cash to buy a house, I had rather have a house that I can enjoy, than take any more chances on the market, which is stressful and not enjoyable.

Can someone please tell me why there is NO trash P/U in Pahoa, Mountain View and anywhere else in Hilo? Is it because of the bad roads? I just got off the phone with my cousin and she said she had to take her trash as well as her neighbors trash to a dump site. Her Neighbor is old and without a car. So she does her that favor. Is there a private trash P/U company that make their rounds on certain days?
She said she drives pretty far to dump her trash. Damn, that must suck to have to do that everyday. I guess you get used to it though like anything else. We're spoiled over here on Oahu. Time for a big change when I move up there. I just never really thought about when I was there on my visits. I'd like more info on the why's and why not's Please.

Thats funny Maka,

It's been about 15 years since I've seen a garbage truck. We don't have those here unless you privately hire someone to come and get it. Growing up in Kane`ohe I didn't realize what a ammenity that was till I moved away. There are transfer stations in every community to take the trash to. I was visiting a friend on O`ahu and heard the truck at 5:00 a.m. picking up the cans of rubbish so I woke up my friend and told her "look garbage truck" she told me to shut up and go to sleep. lol! It's not to bad, it's just something we deal with on this island.

Here's another one:

Wth Mainstreet Pahoa Association we are trying to resolve why there is no mail delivery in Pahoa Village. Geez. If you have a business or live in the village like I do the Post Office will not deliver mail. You have to get a P.O. Box. It's the only town I've ever seen with no mail delivery.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Don't start me on the Post Office, Rob. How in the world do they get away with the way they do business in Puna? It is really scandalous, and past efforts to do something about it have been ignored. I guess it is easy to forget about us folks out here in the middle of the ocean. Apathy on the part of local residents doesn't help, either.

As far as the do-it-yourself garbage removal is concerned, I look on it as an incentive to generate less trash and recycle more. (Having a pick-up truck helps. Puna is really a truck sort of place after all.) In any case, as noted above, there are private hauling services available at reasonable rates.

Cheers,
Jerry

You are shitten me right??????
No mail service!!!!!!
What the hell???
No wonder my girlfriend was grumbling about a post office box shortage in Kurtistown? Is everyone fighting for post boxes? OMG...
Ok, so far we have no Garbage Pickup, No Mail Service and Coqui's having sex worst than rabbits. Oh, and don't let me forget the price of postal stamps are going up a couple of cents too. Thank God for online bill paying.
This is just to damn Hilarious!!! I love it. Maybe I can share Post boxes with someone or better yet, I can't pay that credit card bill because I don't have a mailbox. LOL And I could make deals with my neighbors on trash day. OMG, everyday will be trash day. I forgot. Smile
This sounds like fun.
My Dad works for the C&County here on Oahu. I'll ask him about shipping over a C&County of Honolulu rubbish truck up there and make some people happy. Hell, I got a CDL. I'll even drive the darn thing. Smile I don't think I could handle all the Hauna smells though.
Still don't understand why the BI don't have these things but I can hardly wait to get there. hahaha

I have to admit, the roads are really clean as far as I could see. So it's not like people are just throwing their trash on the side of the roads and being lazy and ignorant. Thank God. Hell, it could be worse right? What about the laws for burning rubbish? Can you at least still do that?

Hmmm. I can tell you haven't been down some of the back roads, Makalealea. There is a real problem here with people dumping rubbish, junk cars, and even stinky pig carcasses by the side of the road. In some cases, I actually think some of these people drive further down a back road to dump than they would have to drive to the transfer station. My partner and I take down license plate numbers and report dumpers. We have also gone through some of the trash and found addresses and even phone numbers. The cops have actually traced a few and made them clean up, but wouldn't say if charges were pressed. Most of the time they get away with it.

Cheers,
Jerry
