Wayne's coming to visit (Finally!)
#1
Hi All,
The arrangements are made for our trip in about 6 weeks. We'll be staying in Volcano and will be walking our lot in Ohia Estates that I bought sight (site?) unseen this year.

This may be ambitious (and presumptuous), but I'd like to visit several of the folks here: David of Ninole fame; the marvelous builders Wyatt, Royall, CaptKimo; The lilikoi in chickenless CarolAnn's yard, the ever-helpful Kapohocat, and.....?
Also maybe check out Castleblock and other building resources. Construction won't be starting until some financial resources free themselves up, but it can't hurt to learn more!
Suggestions, anyone?

Hey Wayne,
Marvelous builders?
I guess that gives you an open invite. We'll be here.

Aloha

Howdy neighbor! Someday. We have one of the first lots on the right on Nahelenani after crossing Old Volcano Rd. We hope to build sometime this year and are also considering some of Rob's products.

"FAME"???? LOL Guess that also gets you an invite, Wayne. In 6 weeks we still expect to be hard at it, so we will also be here. Keep in touch and I can email you directions when appropriate. We look forward to meeting Punawebbers and someday just might be ready to host a gathering of them.

Maybe it was David's vast ranchland, or that he's in Hamakua that made me put him in a different category. I concentrated on the fact he's using ProTech panels, which fascinate me.

By the way, marvelous may seem over the top when I haven't seen the results except in photos, but I marvel every time I think of you folks putting up your own homes!

Thanks for the invites! I'll be emailing in early April.

oink: My lot's on Liona, but is easier to locate as bordering 4th St. in MLE.

Mahalo, Carolann!

Looking forward to seeing lilikoi grow.

Does anyone know what limitations being at 3500' puts on gardening in Puna?

If by "captkimo" you were refering to "kaptkimo" then feel free to come on by. We just finished putting up the trusses and will be doing pearlings and metal soon.

Photos can be seen at:

Using a Gin Pole on our tractor's front loader made quick work of getting the trusses up.
