Maika`i Beachboy... Thanks for the clarification. Oh H.A.C.K.S. are those the ladies who huff and puff while I'm in line at Ross's or Home Depot in Kona, while I'm pulling out my debit card cause they have to wait in line for me to pay my bill? Well, I just take like 10 minutes longer to take it out of my purse and look at them and smile. Or people who are changing out of the line I'm in cause they see another shorter line but then somebody beats them to it so then they think they can cut in line in front of me again? Then they look at me and say, "this is rediculous" all the while I'm singing, "you gotta be cool, you gotta stay calm, you gotta stay together" cause really I just want to tell them off for being impatient. Maybe one day they will push me to that point. Right now, I just look at them and think, "what a bunch of impatient jerks" and stare at them right in their eyes while they are grumbling. It's no wonder that locals get irritated.

Things change. The Tahitians came to the Islands, conquered the Hawaiians, imposed there ways. Now those descended from the Tahitians don't want some other group coming to the islands, "conquering" the "Hawaiians," and imposing there ways. That's life. We just have to do the best we can in preserving the best of the old and embracing the best of the new.

In the end, the Tahitians mixed with the first migrators which are part of "all Hawaiians" today.

In the end, the third immigrants to Hawaii will mix with the second migrators -- just as the second migrators mixed with the first migrators. If the second assimilation is bad, then the first is bad. If the first is ok, then the second is ok. Our efforts should be directed in accepting the inevitable and being the best person we can and influence others by our example.

That has already happened Hilo Haole. There are not many pure blooded Hawaiians if you haven't noticed. I think I mentioned change is inevitable already. You should read the thread better. We are trying to preserve the lifestyle which is a mixture of "all" cultures.
