Water Tank

I need to install a new catchment tank and would appreciate any suggestions as to whom I should call. What is the typical size and cost of a tank for a 3 bathroom house?

I don't have catchment but I understand that there are two considerations in sizing a tank. One is the simple quantity for family use and the other is, I believe, a need for a minimum of 10,000 gallons for the fire insurance policy. I think the insurance requirement rules.

Last year I looked into getting one of those cover support systems to go over my water tank. This is a simple arrangement of thin gauge metal pipes with a hub in the middle. The cover goes over this framework. The lowest price I could find was over $200 just for the framing. I didn't get it because I thought the cost was way over the value. The most unique part is the center hub which looks was welded together.

Did you check with Mike Greenlaw? He installed one for me over a 10,000 gallon ferrocement tank (about 8 feet to the top of the tank) in October 2000. If I remember right it was $160 for frame + cover. Things have gone up some, but I doubt if his prices have gone up that much.

Yeah just the cover is $160 if bought locally. I ordered one from one of these two links but I forget which one it was. The framework for the support system was over $200 everywhere I looked. That's a rippoff is you ask me. If I can just get the center hub, the rest of the pipes should be cheap to buy.

i bought the center piece, then you just stick in pipe 1" diameter of your chose, the center part was only 24 bucks at waterworks... you can do it yourself...
