And Kauai.   Here's their forecast:  

 Labor Day
"tropical storm conditions expected with hurricane conditions possible. Frequent showers and isolated thunderstorms. Locally heavy rainfall possible. Highs 80 to 87. East winds 15 to 30 mph increasing to 20 to 40 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain near 100 percent."

Lotsa rain for us too.  Flood watch through Tuesday.

This is Durgin's take on the threat to Kauai, posted 1 hour ago:    "At 8am Lowell is being steered by an upper level low to its north. The low is moving west (satellite water vapor animation). Currently Lowell is on a path towards Kauai, but as the upper level low moves west, Lowell is forecast to turn towards the north and just barely miss the island. If Lowell turns early it will be farther from Kauai for less wind, if it turns later Kauai is in danger of seeing hurricane conditions."

Every once in awhile I un-ignore Karen to see if she is any less vile but she never is and I always regret it.  Above is the entirety of my post.  Where in my post do I wish harm on others?  I was trying to allay the fears of those of us in Puna still on edge from Lala.
