Does anyone have information on 60psi, on-demand, AC water pumps? I'm interested in perhaps replacing the pressure tank system that is currently installed.

Call Pahoa Battery and Propane or Waterworks in Hilo. They are both good to work with.
The system delivers good pressure to both shower and with out the pressure drop you would get with a tank system.

How do they compare on electricity consumption?

I use a 45 psi on demand water pump, it is just a small one but it seems to handle two fixtures well. It is a rv park model water pump. I think I paid around 100 bucks for it and it has performed well, but it does only get used about 5 weeks a year.

i wouldn't use waterworks, they make you use their in house installers/plumbers and make a big stink if you use your own and something happens to the equipment....also they are bad at replacement of equipment that is under warranty.
emorata ..... thnaks for the forewarning would you suggest Pahoa Battery & Propane ? Any others ?
Thank you : )

I can't agree with emorata's characterization of Waterworks. We used them for our tank replacement and treatment system upgrades. They've been responsive and are conscientious about their installations. I don't know of many companies that will cover the work done by an unknown installer. It only makes sense, when you think about it.
On a similar note, we had a Rinnai tankless water heater installed and had to use one of their certified installers if we wanted their warranty coverage. We chose Eddie's Plumbing because they were very responsive, and I'm glad that we did. They took care of some difficulties that emerged and they had the manufacturer behind them when troubleshooting and eventually replacing the original unit.
