Thanks for the link, Rob (some of the pictures take me back 20-30 years ago - when I used to backpack throughout Canyonlands & Moab area). (OK, now I feel OLD!)

Heard the interview broadcast this morning on NPR on how Collier takes these photos. He uses a Cessna outfitted with footpedals for steering, flying while takeing the photos. The transcript of the interview is here:
