I recently got the following from my friend Amy. Anyone interested, please contact her.
_____________________________________
Aloha Fellow Goat Breeders, Owners and Milkers,
I would like to form a club to represent the goat owners of Hawaii.
The purpose of the club will be to help goat owners of Hawaii share
information, get help with goat issues and join all goat owners of
Hawaii together to help our cause.
I am hoping to have a first meeting to gather information of what a
group of our sort would enjoy.
I am also hoping that someday we can host a first goat show here in Hawaii.
Some of the topics that we may discuss are health issues, especially
here in Hawaii, general goat care, disbudding and parasite control which
is a big issue in Hawaii. Other ideas are start a goat 4-H club; do farm
visits to other goat farms to see their goat practices, etc.
Also it may be nice to have a speaker, like a vet or someone from the
extension office or the University to give us information particular to
Hawaii’s tropical goat care.
Let me know if you may be interested or know of others that are raising
goats and would be interested and I will email you dates of our first
meeting.
*Aloha and looking forward to meeting everyone!
*
*Amy*
