I was born in Roseburg Oregon, spent most of my life in Medford & Jacksonville. Moved to Puna 3 times between 1989 and 1999 finally settling here permanently. Pahoa reminds me of J'ville when I was a kid, before all the trendy restaurants and high-end shops moved in.

Lockheed moved me to Palmdale in 1989 stayed there until 1991 then went on foreign assignment until 2004. Graduated Sylmar High School class of 1978 Go Spartans!

Like Carolann R, also born and raised in Buffalo New York area. Moved in 1972 and still located in San Francisco Bay area. Vacation at least two weeks most years for the last 6 years or so in HPP as that is where my heart is. Would live there in a heartbeat if I could

Born in the east but kept moving west. I thought California was as far west as I could go until I discovered Hawai'i:
Massachusetts, Nashville, Baltimore, Evanston, Grand Rapids, Philadelphia suburb, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, New York City, Philadelphia, Berkeley, Biggs Calif (prune farm 17 years), Oakland Oregon now and also Nanawale. In between: Ontario Canada.

Born in Colombia. Grew up in Toms River, NJ; Stratford and Huntington, CT; and Hilton Head, SC. Went to the College of Charleston where I met my husband who said that he would live the rest of his days on the Big Island. We've been loving living in Puna since '98.
