Design Star is on HGTV on Sundays. I see it at 3pm on Sunday afternoon in Dish Channel 112. It is aired in the "real world" at 9pm Sunday nights. Dish Network also airs reruns all week long...Friday afternoon at 3pm, and lots of other times.

It is a competition between amateur type interior designers who want to be featured on their own show on HGTV. Last years winner was the fellow who does a show on color in decorating now...sorry I cannot remember the name of the show (Color Splash??)or his name..but he deserved to win and I do enjoy his new show when I catch it on HGTV.

I love the challenges they give the contestants....such as go to The Dollar Store with $500 and decorate a totally blank space on the set. They get SO creative. There are 3 judges....Vern Yip from Trading Spaces is one of them. They make the decisions each week until the final...then the viewers decide. The final competition will take place this Sunday and they are flying the final two to somewhere in Hawaii...!! I have no idea what their decorating challenge will be, but since it will be in Hawaii...it will be lots of fun to watch.

Watch for this show in your TV guide. It is a lot of fun if you enjoy decorating or interior design at all.

That sounds so interesting...I love to see before and after ANYTHING (Extreme Makeover still grabs my attention fast). Which brings me to The Biggest Loser...gives me inspiration.

I forgot that American Idol is a reality thing LOL...I was so hoping for Melinda Dolittle to win last season...she was so polished and talented.

I think when you live in a little town that rolls up the sidewalks at a certain time that TV can become a real source of entertainment. For me, I love the reality fix I can get.

Tony's not into reality too much - he loves that show "House." Hugh Laurie is hysterically funny and I can't believe what he can get away with saying. Very sharp sense of humor.

Carrie, you just like Extreme Makeover because Ty is so hot Smile
And Lacy is evil. But so is the stripper Heather. I would have never guessed Brandy was a stripper. She seems like a Tomboy. Don't know who I want to win that one. It is so cheesy and reminds me of the late 80's & early 90's which was my "heyday".

No kidding! I swear I knew some of those &#&!%*@ in my 20's! They are funny - especially the three "witches" that he had come in and interrogate the girls...haaahhhaaaaa! That show is so trashy and funny. It's nice to watch something that's not so deadly serious sometimes, right?

I think I like Extreme Makover because some of the people were in really bad shape with their teeth and skin and weight - and they got to feel like Cinderella (or Cinderfella). That's cool that they got all of that amazing work and training done for free.

My guilty pleasure is Dr. 90210...it amazes me what people would do to themselves to be more desirable.

What fun!

I also like Inn Love. Tori Spelling is cute and personable and her hubby is adorable.

Kathy Griffin's show is usually very entertaining. I like her, too.

No one has mentioned Dog the Bounty Hunter--still one of my favorites.

I like What Not to Wear. I usually just watch the beginning and end, though.

What about Take Home Chef? He's a doll and reminds me of an old b.f. Plus, he cooks.

But best of all are the 'Flipping' shows: I can't recall the names of my favorites because they all sound the same--I am absolutely addicted to about three of them. I call these shows 'porn for older women.' My friend, Charlie, says he never thought the day would come that he would long for Dr. Phil instead.
