cat Killer(?) in puna
#1
not sure if this is the correct place for this but in Mt. view has moved a woman and her daughter who hate cats to the extent that they are trespassing and trapping cats on other people's property. they had a cage they borrowed from the human society but got mad when the HS returned the cats to their owners. Now i dont know if they are dumping the cats or killing them. A neighbor called me and told me she saw the 2 trapping my kitty on my property!! I called the HS who is going to take their cage back from her if she shows up again. the short story is my kitty is a youngish plain grey tabby who would be very scared and might not come to you but very vocal and would probably cry for help. my neighbors she got the same day is a orange and white manx. she dumped them this last monday morning the 19th and if either are spotted I would certainly come and try to rescue. she lives off oshiro road in Mt. View but we have no idea her "dumping ground" If you live in the area BEWARE , if you see either of these kitties please contact me via the forum. the dumping car could be a bronze VW bus with curtains, or a small white hatchback american made with a black strip in back. Rainbow rescue is also aware of her activities. please watch and listen for a crybaby grey tabby.. mahalo

I was getting water at the Kea’au dump and while filling the jug a small purple car came in and parked in front of me for a minute or two. I wish I had been paying more attention what they were doing because as they made the turn back onto 130 towards Kea’au I realized they had dumped two small and very cute kittens. The poor things were frightened and confused. If I had been quicker I could have gotten the license number but I just didn’t realize what they had been up to. I would like to have taken them home but pets aren’t allowed in our rental and from what I’ve been told you can’t just drop them off at the humane society because of the amount of cats they get in. I’m just hoping that the lady that feeds those cats at the dump sees them and takes them in or finds them a home. If anyone out there is looking for a cute kitten they should check them out before they become road kill or wild. One was a little orange tiger and the other was a gray tabby.

That was 9:30 Friday morning. I tried to call KAPA radio as soon as it happened thinking the people in the car was listening. May be someone would know them and see that the kittens were missing and put 2 and 2 together. The line was too busy at KAPA and gave up after a half an hour of trying.

I will call Josi Morgan head of the HIHS and find out if any of the people working at Keaau has taken this persons name who is trapping cats on other peoples property. First please take pictures of what she is doing, note day and time and what the offense is. This person and her daughter have cruel hearts, and they need to be stopped. No animal should ever be abused or mistreated. People think that a cat can fend for themselves by living off of rats. NOT TRUE. Only a few cats (true ferals) might but even their lives are short lived, and succumb to disease, being run over, accidents, and their lives are short lived. Usually if lucky a feral might last 2 years. Most cats you see have been abandoned, and if they are not fed or given water, they will die a horrible, horrible death. Please unite and stop anyone from doing this. Get their car license, and turn them into the HIHS. If they do not do anything, please respond back to me and I'll find out why!!! Waipili

I feel ill at my stomach and so sad for these misguided and hateful monsters. You can count on one thing, I WILL be on the lookout for purple cars every time I go to the dump and if I see ANYONE dumping cats I will get their license number and follow them untill the police catch-up. I know we are supposed to try to go with the flow and not change the Hawaiian way of doing things, like the cockfighting, treatment of dogs (i.e. chained to treesSad ) and the joke of a justice system but something has got to give. That behavior just boggles the mind and honestly I would be afraid that someone that heartless probably wouldn't be above child abuse or harming another adult. Monsters come in many forms and I hope everyone will keep their eyes open for these two and put a stop to this ASAP!!!

Hold on a second kids! We trapped cats in OUR yard in Hawaiian Acres also. There were probably 10-15 feral (not pets) coming around and peeing on everything. We trapped them and took 3 of them to the vet to gets shots, nuetered and clean bill of health, and got their weight up 5-6 pounds and now sleep on the end of my bed!. We also took quite a few to Rainbow Friends, we found homes for 3 more ourselves, and 5 went to the Humane society. Trapping them and gettign them some sort of help was better than the alternative which was starvign to death.
