Sunny and dry in Puna. Lovely day. We were surprised to hear about the amount or rain and flooding Kona side.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Joey, The amount of water south Kona got in such a short time was amazing, some rain gauges got almost 2 inches of water an hour! The more remarkable thing was that on Wed. the east side was fairly dry, partly sunny. Mauna Kea had a huge cloud cover on top, more like a dollup of marshmellow fluff.
This morning there were a few wisp clouds around the summit ...wondering if any of the snow is still there.

There is a bit of snow up there, but just a bit that wouldn't be visible from Hilo.

When it's raining in Puna, Punaweb lights up like a christmas tree. Pretty dead in here today means it's gorgeous sunny weather
This theory had 95% accuracy when I was stuck on the mainland last month, lol.
