Moved to Oahu in 1970, to Hilo in 1977, resident of Nanawale Estates since 1979 but work took me to stints in Volcano, Kona, Keauhou and Kamuela so I got to enjoy those communities too.

Just bought a home in Puna Beach Palisades. My partner and 6 year old son will be making the big move after he finishes his school year in June. We currently live in New York.
So I guess we are still "Wannabes" but soon to be.

I own several properties in Fern Forest, aka the wild west, aka Sherwood Forest[Boy,how long has it been since you heard it called that?].I have lived in the same spot for 11 going on 12 years. Before that it was Oahu;Kahuku and Hauula were my stomping grounds;since 1980.The Native American Center got its start in the Kahuku Sugar Mill in Jan. 1992.My son was born at Kahuku hospital on Oahu.I will never even get on another plane! Okay,I know never say never...but you get the idea,lol....Even though it rains ALOT,a month straight so far as of this writing, and I have seen four months straight in this forest, this is home.I know it is a rough neighborhood, but etc...but this is home.

Glen and Eddie here, along with our two dalmatians, Ben and Mindy. Our place is in lower HPP, but we live in Oceanside, California for the time being. Lots of Hawaiians in Oceanside by the way. Mele Kalikimaka to all our Punatic friends. Thanks to John, for showing us around and for being such a nice guy and friend, Lee G for being such a gracious host and for capturing the spirit of Puna so well, everyone named Carey or a variation thereof, Mella for my Punatic sticker, David for showing my friend Linda around, to everyone who helped me during my "where's the pump?" panic attack, the Puna Kite folks --grown men and women who fly kites in the dark and howl at the moon, to Jerry and Bear for showing me the best place to snorkel and for looking on the sunny side of life, the bartendress at Luquin's for sharing the lilikoi margarita recipe, and to all my HPP neighbors.

HPP Resident since before the millennium. Lived in Lahaina and Waikiki in the 70's and 80's. First set foot on the island in 74'. I didn't realize how many people on this forum don't live here. [8D]
