Does anyone know where the whalesare the whales being sited? This is my first year being on the Island in time to see the whales. If anyone has seen them please share what area I can go see them.
Thank you,

Try the Kohala coast. I've seen active pods on two visits in the last two weeks.[

There were 2 off of Richardsons' Beach (Hilo) yesterday (2nd) afternoon. Good kayak day.
Just curious, Carey, do you have two yellow Ocean Kayaks that you carry on a nice new truck ?
Always wonder if I cross paths with people from here around town.

Whales off Richardson again today, also a female Hawaiian monk seal has been sunbathing on the sand beach where everyone gets in and out on a regular basis for the last couple of weeks.

Thank you,
Sounds like Richardson Beach is going to be pretty regular sightings.
I'll probably be down that way tomorrow. I'll let you know.

POG, we have 2 orange kayaks on a black trailer, or one orange on a silver Focus wagon (can't tie both down on the racks...) We are waiting to replace our truck, but the one I want isn't being sold yet....maybe a year

They are here on oahu now, and more than ever! As they increase, I wonder what will be the effect on our fish stocks? Did you know that big oil saved the whale from extinction? Stocks were almost depleted, and a new industry for oil extraction was being started in hawaii, kukui nut oil, Iao valley was the best example. However, big oil killed that too. How things change!
