Sure it would hold true. Just last week there was all that talk about the increase bacteria count in rain on the east and central east plains of the mainland.
On the mainland I use county water (river and well) but hold no illusion that it's always safe. The fact the county test their water so often provides a measure of relief that I certainly couldn't get from a private well system because I wouldn't and probably couldn't afford to test as often as or for all the stuff the county tests.
Truth is, be it well, river, rain catchment, lake or whatever, without proper and frequent testing, we really don't know. But with rain, I understand that the list of potential contaminates to test for is so much smaller than well or surface. And I've been told that the concentration of contaminants in rainwater is so diluted compared to aquifers or surface ponds.
