Anyone used land sonar on the property or knows any facts on the subject? Thank you in advance.

Still Hope, the "divining" or "witching" method as discussed in "Finding tubes" thread above.

I've seen that method beat the electronic "toners"(tools like metal finders they use for finding pipes and wire conduits)! It will definetly find hollow voids between lava layers, but doesn't say how deep it is.

Mabe the military has a darpa project to actually map deep caves! If so they haven't talked about it.

You can employee hi-res seismic but that requires an energy source , either vibe, Accelerated weight drop or shot hole.

Then there is your GPR (ground penatrating radar)

That would be your best bet.

It would be cool if the UofH had one in the geophysics dept. It would be a good project for a student.

Thank you, guys.I need a "catscan" about 125 feet deep. That is the elevation level on my lot where I would like to have a well.I did apply for the permit and am going to go through with it,but if the drilling hits a lava tube ,then the hole will be cemented and the drilling will be continued. So it would be nice to know "worst case scenario".
