Masked Men Home Invasion
#1
The local newspaper reported about the most recent home invasion of a guy in HPP by four men in masks and threatened at knife point. What preventative measures can I take to not become a victim?

One thing you could do is avoid growing marijuana at home. It's like a magnet for thieves.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Or write about growing marijuana so openly in a Blog that can be accessed by anyone.[Wink]

Yeah, and I can hide my head in the sand and not try to make a difference in this world. Please, give me a discussion on protecting our rights before it is all taken away. Wake up and see the bigger picture. Don't come to me looking for meds when we get cut off from the mainland due to some kind of disaster and there are no more shipments of food, toilet paper, prescription meds or over-the-counter aspirin.

Actually a fenced yard with a locked gate works very well. A couple of medium to large dogs is also a deterant. Better that they go to the place next with a wide open yard.

Get dogs, leave a light on,maybe a tv talk show going so it sounds like someone is home. But my self i would be armed with a gun a gun pointed a someones face and maybe you will never see them again. you dont want to wait till its to late to do something. You have to take care of your self and home.

Great suggestions! Got all those bases covered. I just wanted to sound the alarm and voice the urgency to prepare. I see people living in fear. I want to live in a safe community, is that too much to ask?

Tbear says "He who is homeless does not get burgled." How far do we give in? How many of my rights and possessions must I give up just to live in peace?

When I first heard about this (from someone else, not the newspaper), I thought of our neighbor who lives alone, is in poor health, etc.
He has dogs: one of them recently mauled one of his few visitors.
