Who do you use for grubbing & ripping?
#1
Who would you recommend for grubbing and ripping a 8040 sqf lot and how much did they charge you? I'm also interested in septic installation but gotta get the site graded first...

Any chance you can just work with the land that you have... w/out ripping the entire lot?

Oops! Sorry I wasn't clear...I don't need the entire thing ripped, just the house area and driveway.

You can save money by having your dozer guy dig the septic hole while he is there for the driveway and house pad. Saves having to pay someone to bring out another dozer.

Sorry to hijack, but this is on the topic:

That reminds me.....I was looking in the paper and saw a whole bunch 'o ads for dozing, but they all said "$1000" or "under $1000". I was told to stay away from those, but not the reason why. Is it a licensing issue?

The $1000 dollar thing is indeed a licensing issue. The law says that unlicensed operators can only do jobs under $1000, so they all say less than that in their ads. Just try to get any of the things mentioned in this thread done for less than $1000. Be careful. Many of these guys are not only unlicensed, but uninsured. I have had good luck with contractors recommended by Punawebbers, but one should always be cautious.

Cheers,
Jerry
