Got some hatching out maybe this weekend at $5 each. Just got a new incubator so we will see how it does. They are from araucana/mix chickens, all "barnyard" breeds, no fighting chicken breeds.

In about five to six months I should be able to hatch out pure breds - Rhode Island reds, red stars, black stars and my neighbor is doing buff orphingtons, but our roosters are still too small to do rooster things so all we have now are mixes.

Hi Cathy, got your e-mail about the flock of 5 and will take them if you can give me a ring and let me know when I can pick them up.

Aloha Jay,

The chickens are away to a new home already. I'm looking around to see if anyone has any other extra laying hens but they seem pretty scarce right now. There may be some chicks hatching out this weekend but the incubator is being twitchy right now. I'd better go see if I can get it dialed in better.

Pam, I sent you a chat message about roosters, hopefully you will get it before your trip.

A hui hou,
Catz

Five of them are out of their shells by Saturday night (tonight)and it looks like another seven or eight are pipping so there should be at least a round dozen and perhaps even more by tomorrow night. (Not to count our chickens before they are hatched or anything, of course!)

How many would you like? They are straight run (that means I can't tell the hens from the roosters yet) and $5 each. If they turn into roosters and you don't want roosters, bring them back when they start to crow and I'll either refund your money or give you another chick if I have any available at the time.

How about I'll take 8 and either give away the roosters or perhaps give them back to you. About 4 hens is about all I want to end up with. Unsure about survival rates for the chicks but don't anticipate any trouble.
