Having big wind in the trees here north of Hilo (about 1/2 mile inland) and wondering about the rest of you. I don't think I've had this much wind in over two years. Between the wind in the trees, the surf crashing, and the stream rushing, it's intense ... Coqui's are losing out.

Yeah just drove home from hilo. Windy all the way, lessening now it seems. Big storm on the horizon!

Doors are swinging and slamming shut quicker than we can run around and close them or prop them open. Like living in a haunted house!

It blew like crazy last night down here in HPP, the canopy was rockin' and rollin' all night and I have quite a few plants on their side.

The waterfront highway has been closed since yesterday afternoon. Waves were breaking so far over the breakwater that you could not even see the breakwater. Lots of surfers in the muddy water at the bay front early this morning. My yard looks like a war zone with debris from all of the trees. At some point last night the rain was louder than the surf and that is the first time that has happened here at Hali Pali. I just saw a solo kayaker go by the house... amazingly brave guy. My rain gauge over flowed.

Put up one of those carport tents on my concrete slab - held down with cinder blocks at ALL the poles - the wind pushed it OFF and into the puka!
It looks like it bent some poles - will see more when this "event" passes.
