Rally for the Plan!! .... Tomorrow morning!
#21
I can't say it's not permitted, this is a free country. We do want to minimize impact on the businesses and are discouraging parking in the Ben Franklin lot. However I think that any use of public street parking is legit. We are concentrating our parking at the old county building because there are 80 empty spaces there, it is a short walk to the Ben Franklin location and it is a publicly owned lot.

For those of us who don't know, where is the old council building located? Thanks

If I'm able, I'll be joining Kapohocat about the same time at Malama and will have a couple seats available.

However, I too will be spending the rest of the day in town after the rally so I can't give rides back.

Carey... wheres that bus schedule when I want to post it[?][Wink]

KC - Haven't received any emails requesting a ride. If I don't get any by 10 tonight... I'll probably just head straight in.

Well, assuming I know what we are talking about:

Aupuni Street. If you are coming in Kilauea Av, turn right on Aupuni Street (at the corner is Cruisin Coffee - drivethrough! coffee!). Past the Lagoon center (big condo building) the road bends. First on the right is the State building, past that is the old county building. If you reach the T-junction with Pauahi St, you've just passed it :-)

Well, contrary to Rob's front page prediction in the Trib ("it might only be me"), other people did show up :-)

Hunter has a partial update.

I can give you my brief take on the time I was there.

Drove in about 6:45 and Noticed Emily and some supporters on the side of the Highway making shakas.

Got there about 7:30 (pretty major traffic).... People were just starting to March over to where the meeting was. (Approximately 50 - 70 people in my estimate and short time there).

My kid started to do his "I'm bored number... and began to throw a small hissyfit" so I dug out of there shortly after introducing myself to Ms. Edwards.

I too am anxious for a more further update. I didn't go inside the meeting.

It is the way the way it is.
