Is this a holy war?

When Did It Become Wrong for Our Elected Leaders to Talk About God?http://newt.org/tabid/102/articleType/Ar...fault.aspx

The last time that I made a post here it got over 35 responses and almost 1,000 hits. I called it, The mainland you can have it. I made a personal response to my feelings on the subject and knew that it would draw comments, agree or disagree it was just my opinion. Someone must have complained to the web master and Rob felt compelled to pull it with out responding to me why.

Well I try this one without comment and see how liberals respond. I’m not bashing anyone I’m just looking to see if this is a goody two shoes blog or if it is for everyone.

Liberals and some conservatives are here to chat about Hawaii, and Puna in particular. We generally avoid discussion of Middle Eastern Gods. By the way, when did it become wrong to admit that you have a lot in common with Osama bin Laden including the following: 1) Belief in the God of Abraham, 2) Love of Guns, 3) Belief that there should be NO wall between church and state, 4) That every Government session should begin with a prayer to the God of Abraham (the Middle Eastern God), 5) Intolerance for other views, 5) A strong belief that marriage can only be between a man and a woman, and must be consecrated before the eyes of the Middle Eastern God. 6) Hatred and derision for those that don't share your views and insistience that they DO share your views.

I'm not bashing anyone -- I am shoving their ass in a pigtrap and unloading on them with both barrels.

Chick Cheney and Osama Bin Laden BOTH believe they are fighting holy wars.

It really makes me want to go move to a faraway island.

The Puna Web forum policy which is stated on the front page is as follows:

"Note: National and world politics are not allowed. Local,
Hawaii County and State of Hawaii politics are allowed."

I don't think it matters what your political persuasion is, if your posts are in violation of this policy then eventually Rob will get around to deleting you. As long as your posts are Hawaii-centric I would guess you can be as right wing, left wing, or downright cosmic wing nut as you want and Rob will leave you alone, but if you start spouting off about national politics or political issues not directly related to Hawaii you will get deleted.

I personally do not choose to frequent political blogs and forums because the discourse gets so ugly and personal. Puna Web is a refuge from that really mean spirited zone of the internet, and I am glad Rob keeps it local unless the topic is so lighthearted or entertaining that he lets it slide. Let's all give three cheers for universal silliness and goodhearted positive fun! (Especially in an election year!)

Thank you Rob for all your unpaid work here, and I am sorry that some people make more work for you by pushing the envelope just to see what kind of reaction they get.
