Do you have a bulletproof vest ,rbakker?
I suggest you put it on[Big Grin].

I think you will see less of the mom and pop businesses and more box stores sorry to say. I think that there will be somewhat of an increase in people but I think the infrastructure, less than adequate healthcare and the cost will deter a lot of people.I dont think Puna will become another Maui or Oahu.

Pahoa
I for sure will be here with my wife (Lord willing). living in a small simple cabin. I will want to start a youth football or high school football team in Pahoa. If i can get the funds/grants start up a boys and girls club or something of the sort.

Hawaii is a dream for most and just that. unless a person makes a investment then its just a dream. to make it in five years you will almost need a income such as a retirement income, much like now or a great desire to live on a limited income. hard work and willing to do odd jobs will go a long way.
I agree with macuu222, kathy and damon.

most people who think of Hawaii dont think of Puna. Puna is for a certain type of person. the ones who havnt fiqured that out yet soon will.

peace
