there's been a trillion dollar income shift from the bottom to the top via loss of overtime ,increased co-pays and medical costs, shifts from full to part-time work etc...the bottom 90% of income earners have seen their wages stagnate or decline in the last 8 years while the top 400 families have seen their wealth increase by 1.4 trillion dollars...the top 1 percent now make as much as the bottom 95%...as bad as it was during the Gilded Age...the taking's been going the wrong way for some time....

LOL....

I think the last time the economy shifted enough to make a difference between the rich and the poor it was called the great depression and the poor lost out on that one also.

Yep the wages have become stagnant, but not in China.
Chinese are realizing a boom as U.S. companies are forced to import their slave made products to be competitive. In one of my product lines I offer both U.S. made and China made products. It is almost the same quality but my cost of the import is 1/6th of US stuff. That includes freight.

Wages in the US are suppressed by massive illegal immigration too.

Government has made it difficult to hire employees and it will get worse when all companies are forced to pay for health care. There will be smaller wages and fewer jobs.

Just watch the Dow and the unemployment rate over the next 4 years.

I believe that already exists in Hawaii.

I have had to deal with it and had my "Good Insurance" (that let me use any Dr. in Hawaii) changed to Kaiser. All because the State did not understand my short term disability. (which was much better than what Hawaii requires.)

trounced?
its not as close as the 2 elections before, but Clinton did better. Even Carter got more EV's.

lets not read more into this then is really there. There is still about half this country that did not vote for President Elect Obama, lets try not to start the political war before he even gets in office.

I have been wearing a "Women for Obama" pin for 18 months. Needless to say, I am delighted with his win.

We went to Cronies to watch the results because we don't have our TV's here yet. It was a very special night for America. I have to say that McCain's speech was fantastic and he sounded more like the old John McCain now that he is not in a battle with Obama. It actually brought tears to my husband's eyes and mine too. And then when Obama gave his speech in Grant Park (special place to us, as we met and lived in downtown Chicago for 15 years) we were once again impressed with his eleoquence, grace and humility.

It is a new day for America, and to have a Hawaiian in the white house is also special to us.
