lets not read more into this then is really there. There is still about half this country that did not vote for President Elect Obama, lets try not to start the political war before he even gets in office.

spoken well from a Texas transplant & possible GOP supporter, or Libertarian . As much as I hate to inform you Jon, you're sounding much like the whiners from the other side of the aisle!? I'm so tired of the GOP "wedge" issues. Issues that make you go...."huh" We have gone backwards for the past 8 years in the eyes of the rest of the world.
Jon, this election the people have spoken, and I think it was a mandate of sorts. Sure it might not have been a landslide of profound purport-ions. But a double digit electoral college win pretty impressive! But this country, and the world is tired of being told what to do by a few old white uptight rednecks. The Democratic Party was the big winner last night. The party will now be run by an African-American, a woman, and a Mormon from Nevada. Sounds pretty diverse to me, and way better than a bunch of uptight old men!
Right after the election you could feel our country right itself in front of the rest of the world, and for the most part the rest of the world stood with us! I mean in the drop of a national election, we now as a country have a second chance. A second chance that McCain/Palin white house would have never seen!

Did Obama win last night.................................yes
double digit electoral college victory................yes
Obama more than 50% of popular vote............yes
did party grow in both houses.........................yesI

I think Pres. Obama got himself a good victory and a very good mandate! But more importantly, we no longer have to feel embarrassed. Our 8 years of living hell from the 'Dirt Farmer' from Crawford Texas is coming to a close. With 74 days left do we dare dream?

our economic problems, I point my finger squarely at the GOP. They took over the white house 8 yrs. ago with a surplus. Then quickly squandered off that. So I'm glad that our government will be run by an African-American(Obama), a woman(Nancy Pelosi), and a Mormon.(Harry Reid). Now we can move forward! We now have a chance to right all the wrongs that the GOP pulled the past 8 yrs. on us. Sure it won't be over night, but it's at least gonna happen now.

Now, as soon as we get rid of Lingle, our own backyard will be cleaner too!

YES WE CAN!!!!!!

Jon, I didn't call you a whiner. I said you're sounding like the whiners on the other side of the aisle. Instead of saying nice victory well done. You become somewhat critical of someone using the term "trounce".
Yeah, it's unfortunate that half of the country voted for McCain/Palin. After the 8 years of humiliation we suffered at the hands of your homeboy. Almost 50% of this country was still willing to award McCain the presidency even after the 8 years we had to endure at the hands of the GOP. I'm sorry Jon, I just a bit "fried" by the whole process. Instead of the GOP congratulating Obama, they are already looking for ways to tear him down! Anytime I sense that someone wants to pounce on Dems & Obama I feel the need to defend especially after the 8 yrs of Hell from Bush. Nothing personal Jon,..really!

peace

Rusty, Nice hand off. Pahoa had a football team in the late ninties. They did OK, considering there were only 30 or so players, and had a lot of kids going both ways.

Anyway, since the school doesn't even have locker rooms or showers, and the wrestling team had to practice in the cafeteria.............well, yo see the difficulties. Pahoa gets the short end of the stick in a lot of things.

There also used to be a Pop Warner team, the "Raiders", out of Pahoa. My son played for them a dozen years ago. I don't know what happened to them.

I'm waiting for the school to put a decent swimming program together. There IS the facility for that here, but it seems the kids don't want to wear those little speedo things.

It was actually a triple-digit electoral college win for Obama; in fact he had more than double McCain's electoral votes. It now stands at 364 to 163, with Missouri's 11 votes and one from Nebraska still to be decided.
