We recently purchased a Smart car and picked it up in Hilo. We are wondering if there are others on the Island that have one of these cars and would like to share their experiences, with the car, with us. We have only seen one other in Waimea. Thanks, Little Bill

We bought a 2005 made by Mercedes. Warranty is no longer in effect.
I`m not sure who makes the newer ones. Little Bill
Yours da red one ?
Don't know any others Bill but glad you got it ... Fun to see you cruising around town. My son has a "voice" for the car.

In the last two days I've seen two smart cars, both on the highway near Kea`au. One was red and one was white/silver. What a small world!

There is a pizza shop in Seattle who won't sell their largest takeout pizzas to folks in Smart Cars since the pizza is too big to fit into the car without being folded. They still look like really cute cars, how's the gas mileage?

The turbo-charged Smart Car, by Mercedes, averages 50 MPG on gas.
The diesel model, not available in the US, averages over 70 MPG.
