A couple Puna Projects are listed in the list that I received a few minutes ago.

"PMAR" is listed. Details of size, scale, scope, route, etc. to be filled in.

Solar installations at one new fire station, fix-up of pools, and the island wide solar program. Good.

Bad: not one single roundabout, although "signals" are abundant. Bad, bad, bad.

Zero mention of the 56 acre Pahoa District Park. I wonder why the CoH insists on ignoring this property...
Assume the best and ask questions.

The twenty acre park at 15th and Makuu in HPP that is mentioned is something our Association has been working on for some time. It is encouraging to see it mentioned on this list. HPP will donate the land if the County will put in and maintain the usual park amenities. This also raises the interesting question of the sole access (at this point, at least) being a private road in a "substandard subdivision." There is some possibility of a precedent of some sort being set here, or not, depending on how they go about this.

Of course the list is in the "wish" category, and it is almost certain that not everthing on it will be realized. Also, not everything is necessarily the ideal we might strive for. Nonetheless, it is more for Puna than we are used to seeing.

Cheers,
Jerry
