Pahoa's Island Trust Realty Broken Into!
#61
I liked the solution proposed in an earlier post, have some tempting item available with a tracking device on the property. No need for much technology, no need for continual surveillance.

Hey Kathy,

I took the liberty of doing some minor editing to your reply, which was kind, to show how someone would reply in a manner that might depict that of concern about the spelling and culture without coming off as someone wanting find fault or at the least being condescending.

With that said I'll say thanks and the way you put it makes me want to use the correct spelling. Personally I don't care for the word and am more mad at myself for using it as opposed to my bad spelling. I don't like it just like Hawaiians don't like Moak.

"you may have facts and you have options, and I disagreed with your opinion that things are at a breaking point.

Rudedogg did not sound like he was anywhere near the breaking point...

We can watch, listen or read the news and hear how bad they claim things are, we do need to blow things out of proportion here also."

hey jon ,not breaking yet...close...but..., more like broke,,,,,they took all of my equipment, enough to open their own tat shop....i had to reorder everything....thanks to my guys we're still in biz.....im all for patroling the town on foot,i have and i will,i ninja down there late nights, being i cant sleep.....but thats just me and a friend, the more the merrier i say.....if anyone wants to put some kind of schedule together im all for it .they are usually theiving between the hours of 1-4 am...and they are a gang of tweekers, mostly young ones, they have a weakness for toyota's and honda civic's,....oh yea ,and other peoples stuff.....they will get caught ,its just a matter of time.....they did jump a friend of mine the other day, knocked his front tooth out sucker punching him, tried to get his wallet,he fought bach, they ran,he did call 911,the cops came,he had to argue with them for a 1/2 hr to get them to arrest them.....good thing they stuck around to get arrested, and then released to there parrents, they were all 16,3 of them rt in front of pahoa high school.....another day in paradise

If they are smart enough - financial info on the clients.

I hope the Broker of the company is smart enough not to have that accessible to anyone. We have sensitive information protected by double passwords at my company and we backup the data every day. While I know computer geeks probably could break even the double passwords, these thugs are common criminals and not computer geeks.

Just to reiterate--

While the GPS tracking systems may be a successful option--deterring crime from happening in the first place is more effective than attempting to catch those after a crime has occurred. Although likely pretty successful, the GPS doesn't do as much as other options, in my mind, to prevent the act in the first place. This is I think where efforts would be best placed.

I like cameras as well as they also are capable of enforcing harassment and violence issues as well as property crimes. I think this is an important plus in favor of cameras.
