Some of the local restaurants that don't offer kama'aina discount do offer something on birthday or anniversary which is nice.

hare, I kinda figured that, but David alluded to the possibility of an anniversary discount.

I've never heard of a restaurant asking proof on birthday or anniversary.
I've never gotten a discount for either. For birthday any place that's cool should give a comp dessert.

It's kinda cool getting a discount for nothing more than being a resident. Try it in California, or New York, or anywhere in between.

Hmmmmmmmm, never been asked for proof. Then again, perhaps because we never expected anything? Usually, make a comment about it being birthday or anniversary and sometimes we get lucky. Sometimes it's simple like a dessert or last anniversary it was a percentage discount. Of course, it's usually someplace we frequent.

Biggest Kamaaina discout is if your a golfer.
For example; Big Island Country Club Kama'aina $55, nonresident $169 Hapuna Golf Course Kama'aina $68, resort guests $125, nonresident $150. Hilo Municipal Kama'aina $12 weekdays, $15 weekends; nonresident $29 and $34.
