This link lists addresses in Hawaii that have been declared "meth labs". It's important information for potential homebuyers. The address in Pahoa is in Hawaiian Beaches (according to Google maps), not in Hawi, must be a typo.

That is some old data. It represents addresses where "activity" occurred, and is rather doubtful that the activity is still on-going at that location. Other than worries about possible site contamination if the criminals were really stupid, it shouldn't be an issue to buy a property that once housed illegal activity. For instance, pot is illegal and how many houses have grown it, sold it, etc.? In Puna, there would be very homes to left to buy if you went by that criteria.

Unfortunately the lack of information regarding this in Hawaii is very alarming. Any former meth house should be cleaned to standards, and it can cost tens of thousands of dollars to get rid of this contamination in these homes to make them liveable.

If you are not aware of this please do some research so you know what you may be buying into and what it will take to fix this problem.Your health is at risk, and it has nothing to do with marijuana.

This information should be legally required on real estate disclosure statements, it's like the elephant in the living room. Buyers should do their due diligence regarding this. There was a story on CNN about a couple stuck with a meth house that is unlivable & unsalable. "Cleaning" their meth house would cost $61,000. I don't have a dog in this fight, just trying to warn unwary buyers.

Seems like a small list. Any idea if there is a better resource for this info?

The list is small because it is a list of declared meth labs.

Most of the meth in Hawaii comes from abroad like everything else here.

There is no list of homes where meth use took place, because it would be too large.

You could put most low priced rentals and duplexes on that list !!
