We discovered an abandoned car on our land that must have been there at least 15 or 20 years. Well, as you can imagine there are trees growing into and through it. What I'd like to know is who or what type of contractor do we call to get rid of this? It's not locked into a lava flow or anything, so I doubt a bulldozer is needed.

So your saying it needs more than just an oil change and a good buffing?

Is it a classic? If so, is the VIN still attached?
On the mainland there are companies that broker shells just for the attached VIN number.

Esnap, There is some assembly required. (Don't plan to get this on Christmas Eve and have it ready for your kids the next day!)
Bob Orts, I can look but I bet it's vintage is before the day they were imprinting the vin on almost every part.

a dozer would be easiest and probably cheapest in the end if its any distance from the road

Had 17 on our property in HPP. It's amazing how big of a hill it makes when the dozer came in. Leo really munched them up[

If it is not in the way, could you just dump a load of lava rock on it and plant stuff on it.
It could then be a garden feature with a good story under it.

Royall, 17???!???
I guess the best bet would be to leave it then when I have the main bulddozing done get it then. I can imagine hiring a bulldozer to come out for just an hour wouldn't be worth while.

It's a done deal. Had about 8 hauled off for 2K and the rest was all balled up by the D9 when they ripped for the pad. Just a big green hill now[
] There was just about anything you could imagine on the property including the kitchen sink! Hundreds of engine heads, a motorcycle, glass, a snarf, and even an old Sun automotive scope![xx(]

Have you tried the County's abandoned vehicles program? I'm sorry, I can't attach a document here, or I'd give you a copy. You can email me if you need it.
