I'll second all of the other second's. Kaleo's is downright good and considered so anywhere. A real plus was it didn't break the bank.

Tony and I had our Valentine's dinner last night. We went to Luquin's, and had their steak fajitas...yum.
But afterwards we were so stuffed we walked down the street and Kaleo's was hopping. It looks like a really nice little place...definitely on our list. Eight restaurants in Pahoa...amazing. my wife and I went to Kaleo's last night... I was a fine dinig waiter for 16 years, and kinda know how it should be done right, and these guys definitely do it right,,, we will go back for sure

Update: We went back to Kaleo's and after our first experience there a year ago were pleasantly surprised.
The food was excellent. It was 100x better than our last visit. Service was okay - but hey it's puna. The room is still loud (without any music) but Godmother's and Clemente's fought that too in their time as I mentioned before. The guy directing parking was nice too. I would go back again.

We are trying it tonight also, PW's reputation is on the line. Will let you know. Its Kathy's birthday and I'm hoping for a excellent experience based on PW reviews.
