I have been given different advice on how to get my mango trees to bare fruit. Scraping off the bark and cutting down some branches are the common ones. Does anyone know really what to do. Or does anyone know a good horticulturist that can help me?

Huh?

How old is your tree? Has it produced fruit before? Mango trees bear fruit heavy one year and a much smaller crop the next year.

I think I've seen blue jade vine pretty regularly at Garden Exchange. Red is harder to find if that's what you're looking for. But I've seen that too. I got mine at one of the Panaewa Zoo plant sales.

I have also seen Jade Vine at the BIAN plant sale in the Tennis Stadium - can't remember the name of the grower, though. But BIAN has the sales twice a year, so keep your eye on the calendar in the newspaper.

Red blossom Caleandra. Lots of pink and white around but haven't seen the red one for sale.

Kele and Normand of DaBanana Boy fame just gave us some blue jade vine plants but thanks for the sources, as we would still love to find the red!

Anybody on P.W. know of anyone growing ackee? Looking to plant some trees, as I miss the fruit from my days in the Caribbean. Excellent vegan breakfast substitute for eggs.

Aloha. I don't know if they sill have any but I got a big red Jade at Home depot just a week ago for 6 or 10 dollars. Can't remember. They had three more red and two Jade when I got mine. Huge for the money.
