HPP "Neighborhood" forum link - GONE!
#1
Aloha!

Since the beginning of our "dream" to possibly move to Hawaii several links where sources for the move.
The primaries:
PunaWeb - the forum part
http://punaweb.org/Forum/default.asp

Hawaiian Paradise Park - "Home" page
http://www.hawaiianparadisepark.org/

And the link from HPP's "Home" page to
http://hppneighbor.proboards.com/index.cgi - a HPP "neighborhood" forum.

http://hppneighbor.proboards.com/index.cgi - which has a disclaimer: "THIS MESSAGE BOARD IS NOT AFFLIATED WITH THE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION BUT INSTEAD MODERATED AND STAFFED BY VOLUNTEER NEIGHBORS. IF YOU HAVE ANY PERTINENT OR OFFICIAL BUSINESS WITH THIS SUBDIVISION THEN YOU MUST CONTACT THE HPPOA MAIN OFFICE AT (808) 966-4500 or HPPOA WEBSITE"

Even with the disclaimer " http://hppneighbor.proboards.com/index.cgi was used EXCLUSIVELY (until recently) by the HPP Board to post all manner of announcements in a section that did not allow comment.

Well - today: http://hppneighbor.proboards.com/index.cgi is no longer linked (it was yesterday).

Why?

Where will information now be found? PunaWeb?

Mention of a "New" website or something has been popping up here and there - How soon before it is "up" and "running"?

Aloha. I'm a little confused by your post. I just checked the HPP discussion board and it's there, same as always. We did have a power failure this morning, not sure how widespread, but maybe that had something to do with the board's temporary unavailability? The disclaimer is only there to inform users that the discussion board was started and is run by HPP resident volunteers and is not under the authority of the HPPOA, nothing more sinister than that. As far as I know, no member of the board has ever posted a meeting notice - I do that after receiving email from the HPPOA office notifying me (I'm one of those resident volunteers, screen name horizon). I post the same info here on Punaweb as well. Unfortunately, the HPP discussion board has never caught on like Punaweb, and most HPP discussion occurs here. We function more as a reference library, with an occasional flurry of current opinions. Anytime you want to express your thoughts, please feel free to start a new thread and go for it. I won't take the lock off the BOD announcement thread but I will create a BOD comment thread if you like. Mahalo for your interest.

Actually they took the HPP forum link off on Friday. I believe they want to redo the whole thing. At least that's the just I got from an earlier posting on here from the current HPP board president.

Maybe he would like to expand on this?

Okay, now I'm REALLY confused - just went to the HPPOA website, clicked on the HPP discussion board link, went straight to the discussion board - am I completely missing the point...or???

Actually I don't see the click on link to the discussion board on the website. But the address still works if you remembered it.

It's under Hawai'i links - where else?

Ok...Found it. Thanks... I guess they didn't want it on the main page anymore

Aloha!

Sorry - I wasn't around to clarify - Mahalo macuu222!

Lin W - it was always on the main "home" page of HPPOA at the bottom of the list on the right hand side. It was probably - always on the "Hawai'i" links page - but I never had to go there to get to it.

By not being on the "home" page of HPPOA, signifies to me a distancing of HPPOA from being linked or associated directly to or with it.

Mahalo!

Guess I'm missing the point yet again. The HPPOA is not "associated directly to or with"" the HPP discussion board, never has been, and there is no reason for them to list us on their home page. We are on their links page, as we should be, and I, for one, am quite happy with that. Frankly, I don't think there is anything on the discussion board controversial enough to rate any conspiracy to exclude - looks to me like they just cleaned up their home page and moved all non-HPPOA links to their links page where they belong - routine website maintenance.

Which they haven't done routinely for the past 5 years. Why start now?
