I agree - the area is moving away and it seems like it will start to clear up over the weekend!

"NOW, the rest of the story!" - Paul Harvey
This site has the most COMPLETE weather info for the Big Island and the rest of Hawai'i! The links and data is a little overwhelming.

The REAL GUTS of the story are local. At 2:20 PM Friday we here in Glenwood have been hit with heavy rain and thunder. There is no question about it. I would guess an inch an hour at this moment. Hope it doesn't stay at this rate. We will all float away!!!

A little distant thunder is all we've been having this afternoon. Cloudy but no rain like last night and this morning. At least in lower HPP anyway.
Batten the hatches and dog the doors, it's going to get wet.

We got plenty of rain in Hilo, but no thunder at all. The last few days of wetness and no breeze were our first experience of MOLD INVASION! After being here four months with no propbelms, almost over night we had the straw seats of our dining chairs, baskets and other absorbent things covered with mold. It was a lot of work cleaning and disinfecting them. We finally turned the A/C dehumidifyer on yesterday afternoon.
