New leadership at HPP Neighborhood Watch
#11
Aloha Jeff,
Thank you for your support. As soon as I get a bit more grounded in the job, I will be contacting you regarding ways the HPPOA Board can help us.

Cheers,
Jerry

Aloha Barbara,
Thank you for your kind words and support. I already have a copy of the HPPOA Committee Guidelines, and I will be following them closely. I note that many committees are for a set purpose with specified time frame, whereas the Neighborhood Watch is more on-going and process-oriented. Thus, I anticipate routine reporting to the Board as part of the job along with bringing any acute issues to their attention. I will also be proposing to the HPPNW membership that we set up our own web page for the posting of minutes, a calendar of events, special reports, and general information. The current page on the HPPOA website has been neglected and has to be maintained outside the NW organization. Hopefully someone with more internet knowledge than me will be able to help with the nuts and bolts on this. Suggestions and new ideas from the membership or other interested persons will be gladly given consideration.

Cheers,
Jerry

Jerry -

I would suggest just starting up your own free blog devoted to HPP.

It can be done free and it can easily be maintained.

If you can post on Punaweb... you can maintain a basic blog.

You know how to reach me if you need assistance. I'm a bit busy now... but I can probably squeeze in some time if you want one.

Just whatever you do... don't allow someone from the community try to convince you guys to spend money on a website.

That is the biggest waste of money. I ran my blog for free for nearly 6 months before I decided to finally give in and pay $15.00 just so I could have my own name w/out the "wordpress" tag.

I just checked something and three minutes later you have this.

You could expand if you want. Let me know if you want to take something over like this... it only took me 4-5 minutes to set up.

Thanks for the suggestion and help Damon. I will discuss just what sort of site we want with the members and then see what we want to do.

Cheers,
Jerry

Damon, is it too late to change the name to Hawaiian Paradise Park?

weebly is another host for free websites. Very easy to set up and operate. weebly keeps their name in the URL unless you pay a monthly fee, then you can have your own URL, if available; exSadparadisepark.com)

Anything can be set up or changed at anytime.

If HPP wanted to buy the domain it would cost $15.00 for life.

The site was just a 10 minute thing I threw up to show Jerry what could potentially be done w/ minimal funds.

Let me know if you would like to do something further with it... otherwise, I can simply delete it.
